Preservation Group
The Medicine Wheel Preservation Group is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to further public education, interpretation, and preservation of the Medicine Wheel/Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark on the Bighorn National Forest and associated archaeological and American Indian cultural sites.
A key component of the Medicine Wheel Preservation Group is to continue to provide employment and career development opportunities for American Indian college students while providing American Indian voices and perspectives at the Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark through the American Indian College Student Interpretative Ranger Program.

2026 Program Funding Support

The Medicine Wheel Preservation Group would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Seidler Foundation, the National Forest Foundation and the Wyoming Community Foundation for their financial support for the American Indian Interpretive Range Program in 2026. With this support we can provide an educational and employment opportunity for American Indian college students to serve as Interpretive Rangers and enhance visitor experience at the Medicine Wheel National Landmark on the Bighorn National Forest.
July 16th at 6pm: Immersion in the Crow Culture: Traditional Regalia, Dance, and Song At Fort Phil Kearny
Elannah and Emaurice are enrolled in the American Indian Interpretive Ranger Program as student rangers at the Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark this summer. This program is sponsored by the Medicine Wheel Preservation Group, Fort Phil Kearny State Historic Site, and Fort Phil Kearny Bozeman Trail Association with funding support from the Wyoming Community Foundation, the Seidler Foundation, and the National Forest Foundation.
